Summer Solstice

Here it is, Mid-Summer. Some Pagans go out and gather herbs at dawn, some party. The Druids congregate at Stonehenge. Today is the longest day of the year, today the sun turns back–from now until December the days will grow shorter. For some Pagans this is a time of contemplation. There is no light without darkness, no darkness without light… What do we need to bring into balance within our lives?

For me it’s about the Fremont Solstice Bike Parade in Fremont, WA: naked people in body paint, hats, and feather boas riding bicycles in front of cheering spectators. I doubt that I will ever make it to Fremont in this lifetime, but here are the pictures and the video:
